If you can volunteer in the art room, please contact me anytime. I always need help preparing materials. If you would rather help students, that would be great as well! You can contact the school at 434-5367 or reach me by email at [email protected]. If you have questions or concerns about your child, please do not hesitate to contact me at any time.

It would be a good idea to send students in older clothing on art day. Sometimes we use messy materials that could stain. See teacher websites to know which day your child comes to Art. All students have Art for one hour, one day each week.
National and State Standards will be addressed throughout the year. During the 2017-18 school year, we will be focusing on "Big Ideas" in art. The 5 ideas addressed will be : Environment (Nature) , Feelings, Identity (Art about Themselves) , Culture (the study of things created by humans that influence how we live and differentiate us from other cultures and our way of life), Society (the study of the groups we belong to and what makes them a part of our lives- the study of community- touching on the 7 Habits of Happy Kids
Letter grades will be applied to students in grades 3-5. They are based on behavior and participation, not ability. If students are showing active listening, following directions, and doing their personal best by completing work and participating in class- THEY WILL DO GREAT!
Rubrics may be applied to student work. Students may also self assess or write about something they have created. Student's grades mostly come from effort and behavior. In grades 3 and 4, students receive letter grade. Students will also be instructed on how to formally talk and write about Art.
